Sergio Ramos narrowly missed opening for Real with a header, but in the 23rd minute the ball fell to Cristiano Ronaldo on the left hand side and the forward drilled home a shot into the near post. Barcelona were level on the hlaf hour when Pepe made a hash of clear the danger from a right wing cross, and Lionel Messi popped up to equalise. On the hour Barcelona got their noses in front from a brilliant free-kick from Lionel Messi. Real hit ba kc in the 65th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo was released through the middle by Ozil and the Portuguese forward made no mistake in front of goal.
