Jonjo Shelvey headed Liverpool in front early on thanks to a lovely Downing assist. Antonio Di Natale put the scores level with a wonderful finish. Jonjo Shelvey missed a sitter from approximately one yard. Sebastien Coates then put Udinese 2-1 up with an unfortunate own goal. It didn’t take long for Udinese to add another through a brilliant Giovanni Pasquale strike. Luis Suarez scored a brilliant free kick to make it 3-2 with 15 minutes remaining.
