Carlos Checa roared to an emphatic 11th win of the season, while Tom Sykes clinched his first-ever World Superbikes win in Nurburgring. Tom Sykes lived up to his reputation as a wet-race specialist to seize advantage of treacherous conditions and clinch his first-ever World Superbikes win in race two at the Nurburgring. Sykes’ previous best was a second place finish as a wildcard in his World Superbikes debut at Donington Park in 2008, but the Kawasaki Racing Brit rode the perfect risk-free race to ensure he topped the podium for the first time.
