Montpellier took a surprise lead in Germany when Karim Ait Fana curled home a beauty in the 13th minute. Schalke equalised in the 26th minute when starlet Julian Draxler rounded the keeper and slipped the ball into an empty net. Montpellier’s match imploded early in the second half as Klaas Jan Huntelaar tucked home a penalty after Garry Bocaly has been shown a red card. Montpellier snatched late point when Souleymane Camara curled home an equaliser in the 90th minute.
