Newly crowned World Superbike champion Carlos Checa topped off his celebrations with a win in race two at Magny Cours, completing the double for the weekend in the process. The 38-year-old has been the best rider in the paddock all season long and he proved his championship class once again with a comfortable win. Marco Melandri came home in second with team-mate Eugene Laverty third after lightning struck twice for Castrol Honda rider Jonathan Rea.
