Gonzalo Higuain put Madrid ahead inside 2 minutes after a clever pass from Angel Di Maria. Di Maria then got on the scoresheet himself after cutting inside and firing home. It didn’t take long for Galaxy to respond, David Lopes bundled it in from a vintage Beckham delivery in the 23rd minute. Jose Callejon added to the first half goalfest with a fine left-footed finish. After the break Granero chipped through for Alvaro Morata to make it 4-1. A fine flowing move saw Real Madrid claim their fifth, Jese Rodriguez claiming the finish.
