The Champions League finalists fell behind in the 19th minute as Santon played the ball into Papiss Cisse, he took one touch before smashing the ball past Cech into the far top corner. The Magpies almost doubled their advantage in the 44th minute when Demba Ba crashed a shot against the bar. Deep into injury time the Blues were killed off as Papiss Cisse’s incredible reverse-banana strike from outside the area curled into the top corner.
